Almond bars make a tasty offering that everyone can enjoy. Regardless of your baking skills or lack thereof, there is an almond bar recipe out there to meet your needs.
There are hundreds of recipes for almond bars to be found with a quick internet search by typing “almond bars” into any search engine. This easy recipe from allrecipes.com requires only six common ingredients and reaped many rave reviews for taste. Prep time is about 10 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, beat four eggs and two cups of sugar until the mixture is lemon-colored. Add one cup of melted butter, not a butter substitute, two cups of flour and three teaspoons of almond extract and mix well. Spread into a greased 13-inch by nine inch by two inch baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar.
This recipe should make 24 bars. For an added almond crunch, try sprinkling about one cup of sliced almonds on top halfway through the baking process.
