Salted Nut Bars

Salted nut bars are an easy to make treat for any time of year, but they’re especially yummy during the holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. These easy to make bars take only about 20 minutes to make and are very simple.

The first thing you will want to have is the cake pan or bar pan such as a 9x13 sized pan. You will want to butter the pan so that the salted nut bars do not stick when you’re ready to cut them and serve.

Many people make these simple bars in different ways, but the primary items you will need are salted peanuts, peanut butter chips, small marshmallows, a yellow cake mix without pudding in the mix and white Karo syrup and butter, Rice Krispies and vanilla.

Begin by mixing the dry yellow cake mix into a medium sized dish and melt the butter. Mix the two ingredients together. Pat into the bottom of the cake pan and bake on 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. While the cake mix is baking, place the peanut butter chips, Karo syrup and vanilla into a sauce pan until melted and then put in the Rice Krispies. Once the cake mix has baked, pour the melted mixture on the top of the cake mix and spread across the entire top of the cake mixture. Next, place your small marshmallows on the top of the peanut mixture and place back into oven on 350 degrees for five minutes. Remove the cake from the oven and place two cups of salted peanuts on the top.
